‘Hope means believing in spite of the evidence and watching the evidence change.’ – Jim Wallis of the Sojournes.
It’s been a real pleasure for me to work again with the Archbishop of York, Dr John Sentamu.
John Sentamu’s Hope Stories is the follow up to the book, John Sentamu’s Faith Stories.
This time, as the title suggests, the stories told in the book are ones of hope.
I have been moved by meeting each one of the people interviewed for this book. The circumstances of their stories are all different, but what runs through each one is the power of God’s grace and light to transform the darkest of situations.
Many people might describe the situations these people found themselves in as hopeless. They are people who have faced despair in challenging circumstances including, addiction, crime, homelessness, debt, serious illness, and disability. Through faith, they have found the hope to rebuild their lives.
